The Percent Daily Value (%DV) that you see listed on our nutrition facts panel is calculated by using the Protein Digestibility Corrected Amino Acid Score (PDCAAS) for each of the ingredients that contains protein. The highest possible PDCAAS score is 1. The closer the score is to 1, the better your body is able to use the protein in that food. Actually, peanuts have a higher PDCAAS score of 0.9 and almonds have a score of 0.8. But because the Chocolate Sea Salt bar contains both almonds and cashews, the combined PDCAAS score is higher than a Peanut Butter Chocolate bar, which just contains peanuts. Therefore, the %DV is higher in the Chocolate Sea Salt bar.
